Hey Grandma Lucille
Took this picture at the Zoo yesterday. The sun was shining down just so & i saw this giant monarch (always been a symbolism of Grandma Lucille for our family) - seemed like Grandma Lucille (Em's middle name sake), was watching down saying hello! I love these chances to remember her and I really feel like she sends us signs and watches over us.

Mini stay-cation
My works been slow so I took a couple vacation days & we took the kids on a Route 66 Mini Stay-cation just a couple of hours away!
We did not have a destination in mind, just a urge to get away for a night and go somewhere new for a bit!
We traveled south and ended up visiting a great zoo, staying in a hotel, doing a lot of hiking, fishing & eating good food!
It was a ton of fun!

The great flood of 2013
This Spring has been nothing but record breaking rain fall. Our neighboring community was half washed out, rescuing people by boat!
We luckily were unscathed minus having to find alternate routes to work!
It was definitely something that people in our life time had never experienced!

Happy 50th Birthday Ma!
My mother is 50 today (thought she doesn't look it!).
I'll tell you, you won't meet a more loving, caring, selfless, and loyal woman.
I don't know where I got my drama because it sure wasn't my mama!
She has never been a bad mouther, confrontational, or hurtful. I mean, I really don't know how she stays so kind sometimes but she always handles herself with grace. Enjoys simplicity. When I look at her and her abode she's serene and happy.
Mom, you got it figured out. You're doing life right. Your doing God a happy justice which is the forefront of your life.
You inspire me. I admire you. I only hope i can be 1/2 as good as you.
My birthday wish for you is excitement! You're children are basically grown. A constant caregiver, you haven't left that perch for 27 years. I want to see you spend some time on you!! Have fun, do something crazy or unexpected. Follow a dream of yours. You've earned it and deserved it!
